June really is the pits for watching meteors. Not only are rates low but there are no obviously active showers. Date from the last 2 weeks show a consistent drizzle of meteors with below average numbers. Some nights are better than others. The last three nights have experienced bouts of high cirrus from thunderstorms in New Mexico. The cirrus was so bad on the night of June 6/7 that not a single meteor was seen.
Not to worry, meteor activity will explode in intensity by next month.
