Rates were down last night. Compared to the two previous nights, both my cameras detected ~40% less meteors. Since both cameras saw less, it suggests that both bright and medium brightness meteors saw a decline. What does this mean? Probably nothing. Night-to-night variations in meteor rates are common.

Hi, I live in Illinois and do paper route with my kids looking towards the North I saw a huge meteor come in with a long tail. It was about three times the size of the North Star on naked eye It went through once with a tail about ten times longer than in then it was a ball for a second then a second tail…Any idea if it was a comet, meteor or space junk? It was about 5:55 AM (not exact on the time but close)
